The Reality on the Ground

FGM Still Happens Daily
Despite laws against it, female genital mutilation continues in communities where tradition outweighs enforcement. Girls as young as infants are cut — many with no say, no voice, and no recourse.
Children Are Forced to Work
Children are pulled out of classrooms and into farms, markets, mines, and homes — losing their childhood to labour that robs them of education, safety, and dignity.
Trafficking Preys on the Vulnerable
Young women and girls are lured with false promises of work or marriage, then trapped in modern slavery — sometimes across borders, sometimes just down the road.
GFDI exists to push back against all of it. We educate. We intervene. We advocate. We stand with survivors. And none of that is possible without support from people who care.
Where Your Donation Goes

Community Education & Awareness
Workshops, town halls, and school programmes that teach communities about the harm of FGM, child labour, and trafficking — and offer alternatives rooted in local culture.
Direct Intervention & Rescue
Coordinating with partners to identify at-risk children and women, intervening in crisis situations, and connecting survivors to safe shelter, medical care, and legal support.
Legal Advocacy & Case Follow-Up
Working with legal practitioners to pursue justice for survivors, follow up on reported cases, and pressure institutions to enforce existing protections.
Women's Empowerment Initiatives
Skills training, entrepreneurship support, and micro-grants that give women economic independence — the surest path out of cycles of abuse.
Child Protection & Education
Helping children stay in school, covering fees for the most vulnerable, and providing supplies and mentorship that keep them off the streets and out of exploitative work.
Survivor Support Services
Counselling, rehabilitation, and ongoing case management for survivors — because recovery is a long road that doesn't end when the rescue does.
